**Sign on bonus eligible** The Opportunity: Patient Care Associate– Ellison 16 Ellison 16 is a thirty-six-bed unit devoted to the care of the acutely ill medical patient. The patient population on this unit includes a diverse mix of medical diagnoses requiring complex nursing care. Schedule - Rotating | (1) 8-hour shifts and (1) 12-hour shift - 20 hours per week - Alternating holiday and weekend schedule What are we looking for? The Patient Care Associate (PCA) will assist the RNs in Ellison 16 with a variety of functions including phlebotomy and EKGs, transport patients, check rooms and equipment, assist patients with dressing and feeding and some clerical functions. Skills - Effective customer service orientation and the ability to interact with diverse groups of patients, staff and providers. - Demonstrated ability to solve basic patient and practice problems using a combination of strong interpersonal and communication skills, attention to detail and superior organizational skills. - Ability to lift and transport patients, using the appropriate physical technique, in a safe manner for the patient and self. · Preferred: Must have recent experience, and/or training, in clinical patient care. · Required: Licensed, certified or enrolled student in a Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, Mental Health Technician, or EMT accredited program, at the time of hire, OR Candidate enrolled in a Nursing program, Pre-Med or PA undergraduate program with at least one semester of patient care rotations completed at time of hire.
