LOCATION SUMMARY:

Nestled on the Central California Coast, Adventist Health Sierra Vista has been providing care to our community since 1959. Our 162-bed acute care facility includes a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and county designated trauma center. POSITION SUMMARY:

This a union-based role represented by CNA. Responsible for the planning, coordination, and provision of nursing care to patients on the critical care setting.  Supervises and delegates care responsibilities to ancillary personnel commensurate with their scope of practice. Responsible for critical care nursing knowledge and skills applicable to but not limited to the care of patients with multi system failure requiring ventilation, neuro / trauma, respiratory failure, and hemodynamic monitoring. Responsible for the planning and provision of nursing care to patients in the critical care units.  Has excellent observation, good nursing judgment/critical thinking , and good  oral and written communication skills.  Ability to work effectively with multiple tasks in a team setting utilizing interpersonal, organizational and prioritizing skills.  Able to supervise and delegate care responsibilities to ancillary personnel commensurate with their scope of practice.  Is flexible and cooperative in fulfilling role obligations

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education and Work Experience:

• High School diploma or equivalent: Required
• Associate's Degree: Required
• Bachelor's Degree: Preferred
• Passing completion of a critical care nursing course: Required
• Six months previous critical care experience: Preferred

Licenses and Certifications:

• BLS: Required
• ACLS: Required
• California RN License: Required
• TNCC: Required within 1 year of hire or transfer into the department (current employees as of 6.30.2021 have 2 years to complete the course)
• CCRN: Preferred
