Description
Work Schedule:
100% FTE; core hours between 7:00 am - 7:00 pm (Three twelve hour shifts, one 4 hours shift) with rotating weekends.
As an Advanced Practice Provider, you'll play an integral role in our medical/surgical inpatient care teams by providing high-quality, cost-effective care to patients.
We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to:
- Care for the sickest children in our region. We work closely with teams from Transplant, Hematology/Oncology, Neurosciences and Cardiology, as well as other specialty services. We are a Pediatric Level 1 Trauma and Burn Center.
- Participate in daily rounding, collaborating with the multidisciplinary team
- Provide consistent high-quality care to our patients throughout the day.
- UW Health’s Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Advisory Council ensures that your voices are heard. This unique advisory council serves to promote, support, advocate and advise on APP practice and provide expertise and counsel on APP roles across the organization.

Education:
Minimum -
If Nurse Practitioner: Master’s or Doctorate’s degree from accredited Nursing Program
If Physician Assistant: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from accredited PA Program.
Licenses and Certifications:
Minimum – State of Wisconsin NP or PA licensure
If Nurse Practitioner:
- Active RN and APRN certifications and licenses, including prescriptive authority, in state(s) of practice AND
- Active board certification as a Pediatric Acute Care NP in area of clinical practice
- Two to three years of experience
If Physician Assistant:
- Active PA license, including prescriptive authority, in state(s) of practice AND
- Active PA board certification
- Two to three years of experience
All Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant applicants must have*: Active DEA license or ability to apply for such license prior to or upon hire
