Summary:
The Mobile ECHO service provides pediatric cardiac sonography services that can provide either full coverage, overnight/weekend call coverage or scheduled intermittent coverage for hospitals in the region. This position operates ultrasound equipment used to produce quality diagnostic echocardiography to ensure optimal patient care. This position requires travel-heavy work (within Dallas/Fort-Worth region and sonographer coverage area) and regular call periods, including overnight coverage.
Responsibilities:
* Respond to Mobile ECHO work queue / schedule to appropriately cover requests in assigned coverage area.
* Conduct inpatient and outpatient diagnostic echocardiograms following the American Society of Echocardiography (ASE) guidelines, ensuring adherance to standards for digital image acquisition.
* Consistently offers guidance and support to junior team members on complex technical issues, assisting them in balancing their workload and effectively applying their technical skills
* Responsible for performing and archiving calculations for reporting of all pediatric ultrasound imaging.
* Responsible for applying special precautions during neonatal scanning and utilizing knowledge of echocardiographic systems and knobology to ensure optimal probe selection and image optimization techniques for neonatal imaging.
* Apply critical think and a segmental approach during imaging to produce high-quality diagnostic studies for both normal and complex congenital heart defects.
* Participate fully in call schedule.
* Engage in biweekly educational echo conferences, team operations meetings, and continuous quality improvement activities.
WORK EXPERIENCE
* At least 1 year job related experience Req
* At least 2 years job related experience Pref
EDUCATION
* Two-year Associate's degree or equivalent experience echocardiography Req
* Four-year Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Pref
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
* Current RDCS-PE by ARDMS or RCCS by CCI (ARDMS is preferred) Req
* Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers as required by CP 1.20 Life Support Course Requirements Req
* Valid, current Texas Department of Public Safety Driver's License upon employment Req
* Certified in one of the following: Fetal, Adult, Vascular Pref
