Summary:
This job supports the day-to-day functions of storing, preparing and delivering a safe human milk product to hospitalized patients.
Responsibilities:
* Receives orders and maintains records of current orders; communicates with patient care units to clarify orders. Accurately calculates human milk additives based on physician order. Accurately weighs, measures and prepares human milk per physicians' orders. Obtains human milk from patient care units and maintains human milk inventory utilizing proper storage and handling guidelines. Labels prepared for feedings per facility policy. Delivers prepared feedings to patient care units. Maintains sanitation at all times in the preparation area. Discards expired human milk, supplies appropriately. Monitors temperatures of feeding preparation room equipment, refrigerators, freezers and dishwasher. Enters charges for handling and preparation of human milk daily.
* Complete administrative tasks such as communication with patient unit staff, maintaining and ordering supplies, responding to emails and phone calls, complete ongoing required training / education / competencies and attending various meetings.
* Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

* At least 1 year job related experience Pref
* At least 1 year previous related experience in a hospital or other healthcare facility Pref
EDUCATION
* High school diploma or equivalent Req
* Two-year Associate's degree or equivalent experience Pref
