Description
Job title & Specialty Area: Sr Social worker TPT-PRN
Department: Social Work
Location: Dallas - Occassional cross coverage to Plano campus
Shift: 7a-7p or 7p-7a and varying times on Saturday and Sunday. We have an 8-6pm and 11a-7p as well. Shift times varies.
Should be flexible and able to pick up shifts in advance as well as last minute.- Weekends coverage

Summary:
Implement and administer policies, programs and activities. Responsible for performing psychosocial assessments on families ability to meet their child's healthcare needs. Ensure the preparation and maintenance of required documentation per accreditation standards and CMC's policy.This job is an hourly version of exempt role 2054; typically used for part-time or PRN assignments.
Responsibilities:
* Perform biopsychosocial screening and assessment of the families ability to meet their children's healthcare needs by applying specialized knowledge and advance practice skills in assessment treatment, diagnosis of mental illness, planning, implementation and evaluation.
* Facilitate parent/child adjustment to illness and hospitalization.
* Coordinate anticipatory discharge to ensure that patient's home - care is prearranged prior to leaving the hospital.
* Coordinate and direct multidisciplinary patient care conferences focusing both on medical and biopsychosocial needs.
EDUCATION
* Graduate or professional work or advanced degree; or equivalent experience MSW Req
WORK EXPERIENCE
* At least 2 years of working as a LCSW is -required
* At least 5 years of expereince as a professional Social worker in health care
*At least 2years of expereince in pediatric health care - required
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS* State of Texas LCSW license Req

Job Responsibilities:
Perform psychiatric and biopsychosocial screening and assessment of the patients and families to meet their healthcare needs; obtain information from patients/families; based on assessment, diagnose, provide therapeutic interventions and make referrals as appropriate for families in crisis; and provide supportive counseling to aid adjustment to patient’s condition and hospitalization.
Perform psychiatric evaluations on children, adolescents and families for mental, emotional and behavioral disorders with special emphasis on risk of suicidality and safety to provide appropriate interventions grounded in evidence based practice
Evaluation of clinical needs of the patient, recommend treatment plans, discharge plans and follow up care programs while providing therapeutic crisis intervention
Provide supervision, training and instruction to social work department employees and graduate students on the provision of therapeutic services
Develop and facilitate professional education on behavioral and mental health issues for clinical social work staff
Serve as the content expert for behavioral/mental health consults by applying specialized advance clinical skills in assessment, diagnosis and treatment of mental, emotional and behavioral disorders, conditions and addictions including serious emotional disturbances in children
Utilize the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM), the International Classification of Diseases (ICD) in assessment, diagnosis and treatment of behavioral/mental health patients
Participate in clinical research opportunities as they exist in specific service areas
Responsible for child maltreatment evaluation and referral, trauma and safety assessments
Ability to meet physical and non-physical demands as outlined in the job description is an essential function of the job
Perform mental health assessments and diagnosis in the Emergency Department.
