About the Job:
This RN Team Leader is responsible providing leadership to the front-line staff in collaboration with the Clinical Manager. Serves as a conduit between the front-line nursing employees and manager for the purpose of facilitating communication, overseeing orientation of new team members in collaboration with the Clinical Educator, and evaluating clinical practice with a particular focus on quality and performance improvement.
We are seeking a dedicated healthcare professional to join our team, focusing on a diverse patient population including pulmonary patients requiring tracheostomy and ventilator care, rehabilitation patients with traumatic brain injuries or spinal cord injuries, and those needing specialized feeding support due to dysphagia or failure to thrive. The role involves providing comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation for patients with conditions such as trauma, encephalitis, and various respiratory issues, while also managing overflow general pediatrics cases, including bronchiolitis, dehydration, asthma and post operative patients.
As a team leader, you will foster collaboration with multiple disciplines, promoting a cohesive approach to patient care and ensuring that all team members are aligned in their efforts. Flexibility and adaptability are essential, as department needs can change, and patient requirements can shift rapidly. Being able to adjust to varying situations will enhance our overall care delivery. Candidates should be prepared to adhere to policies related to specialized equipment and procedures, always ensuring the highest standard of patient care.
Some Highlighted Responsibilities:
This position will provide people leadership which may include providing input for employment decisions and participating in performance reviews.
The Team Leader, Nursing will spend 60% of their time in clinical shifts and 40% of their time in administrative/leadership, recognizing that at least 10% of their time in the clinical shifts is still spent coaching, mentoring, and developing staff.
Monitor key metrics and analyze information for process improvement
You will balance staff schedules and monitor trends with attendance.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Three years RN experience. Previous leadership experience is preferred.
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- License: Texas RN license
- Certification: American Heart Association Healthcare Provider CPR/BLS and PALS.
