Description

Responsibilities:Participates as part of the surgical team in assisting nursing staff with support services necessary for safe and efficient patient care and environmental cleanliness within the various areas of Surgical Services. Frequent duties include, but are not limited to, transportation of blood and specimens, stocking and maintaining the general orderliness of assigned Surgical Services department spaces, including operating rooms, patient transportation, and errands as assigned.
Qualifications:Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
One-year previous medical experience in an acute care setting preferred. This could include experience as a Surgical Services Aide, OR Assistant, Certified Nursing Assistant, central sterile tech, or other medical experience.
Skills:
Must have the ability to give and receive verbal and written instructions in English and perform basic computations. Medical terminology desirable.
Must be able to work well with other team members.
Must be able to perform duties independently with minimal supervision.
Must be able to quickly perform a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Must be willing and able to work alternate shifts (including weekends) and overtime to meet the demands and needs of patient care and the department.

Current American Heart Association CPR/BLS certification required prior to start.
CNA or other clinical/surgical certification preferred.
Pay Range: USD $19.53 - USD $26.45 /Hr. Working Conditions: Risk of exposure to blood and body fluids . Risk of exposure to surgical smoke . Risk of exposure to waste anesthesia gases Annual E required . Must be able to lift push pull 20 40 pounds.
