Berkeley, CA

About

Located along the northeastern shore of San Francisco Bay, the city of Berkeley may be best known as the home of the University of California. Berkeley and its deep activism roots, dating back to the 1960s, is also the site of many famous demonstrations and protests. Downtown Berkeley serves as the city’s vibrant urban hub, home to many art galleries, dining and shopping venues, theaters and the Berkeley Art Museum. The Telegraph Avenue District is iconic as the spot where counterculture arrived in the city, and the '60s vibe still lingers, with street vendors, restaurants, shops and famous bookstores like Moe's. You'll even find Michelin-starred Mexican street food here at Tacos Sinaloa. Head to Grizzly Peak in Tilden Regional Park, just a few miles from downtown, for one of the best views overlooking the Bay Area. After dark, the sparkling lights of nearby cities stretch endlessly.
