Job Summary and Qualifications

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for managing the individualized patient care by promoting and restoring patients’ health through the nursing process. The RN provides direct patient care, including assessment, diagnosis, planning implementation, evaluation, and patient health education within the guidelines of the standards of nursing care.

The Imaging RN monitors and assesses both inpatients and outpatients undergoing minimally invasive procedures, treatments and examinations. This role will include performance of procedures in various imaging modalities including Interventional Radiology (IR), neuro-intervention, Computed Tomography (CT), Ultrasound (US), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), X-Ray and Nuclear Medicine (NM).

Responsibilities

Coordinates care in collaboration with members of the patient’s treatment team.
Reviews physical exams and health histories, physicians’ orders, prior relevant images, and laboratory findings.
Conducts nursing assessments and routine observation for patients within established time frames.
Provides direct patient care including administering medications including but not limited to moderate/conscious sedation, injections, intravenous infusions and other treatment interventions while operating standard critical care equipment safely and correctly.
Recognizes and intervenes in life threatening emergencies, including the administration of emergency drugs, and defibrillator or other emergency treatment.
Documents patient assessment findings, care rendered, procedures performed, and other various aspects of patient plan of care making periodic updates related to the patient’s condition and response to treatment.
Provides patient and family health education based on assessed needs for indicated procedures performed, medications administered, overall wellness, and directions for follow up care.
Adheres to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines and quality control methods.
All other duties assigned by department.


Qualifications Education:
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. Entry level training maybe Associate Degree in Nursing or Bachelors Degree in Nursing.
Required License/Certification:
Florida State Board of Nursing License or Compact State License.
American Heart Association BLS Health Care Provider
American Heart Association ACLS Health Care Provider

Required Experience:
1-3 years Critical care or ED experience
Preferred Experience:
Neuro/Interventional Radiology
