Marathon is spread over 13 islands in the Florida Keys, forming the southernmost part of the continental United States. The islands feature a Caribbean-like feel, with abundant sunshine, idyllic beaches and opportunities for all sorts of water sports, including snorkeling, reef diving, paddleboarding, sailing and deep-sea fishing. The 10-mile-long community sits in the middle of the island chain, mostly on Grassy, Vaca and Fat Deer keys.
