Estimated pay package based on bill rate at time job was posted. Bill rates can change frequently and without notice. Exact pay package may vary based on guaranteed hours, distance being traveled, and customizations available for travelers.
Travel PCU/Stepdown RN is needed to start ASAP in a Hospital in Indiana for a 16 week assignment. Shifts consist of 7pm-7am and every 3rd weekend. OT is offered, but not guaranteed. Utilize self-scheduling. Schedules out 6 week. Holidays are worked into a rotation with the perm staff. There are 2 Medsurg units 2 South and 3 North. Travelers will be expected to float between 2 North PCU and both Medsurg units if needed. Certifications required - BLS and ACLS. 2 years of experience in specialty is required. Number of Beds - 18. Ratios are 1:3 and 1:4 if high census. Medication system is Accudose. EMR is Cerner. Charge Nurse - Yes and they take a patient load. Unit Orientation - 2 days on the floor. Nurse Aides: Yes 2 days, 1 nights. Huck (also is monitor tech) 24/7. Scrub Color - Red top and black pants with all black shoes. Red tops are embroidered and must be purchased from the hospital, but can borrow until then. Telemetry - Bipap, CPAP, Venti masks. Vents - All patients on tele. RNs are expected to read and interpret strips. Bedside monitors and central monitoring station. IV Team - Vascular access team for difficult sticks only. RT 24/7 - Yes. Pharmacy 24/7 - Yes. Types of patients - 50% cardiac, 50% pulmonary. CP r/o MI, CHF, pneumonia, COPD, sepsis, Substance abuse, withdrawal, large elderly population. If post Cardiac Cath patients come to floor RNs do not pull sheaths. Other specific unit information - Strong team work. Very helpful and work together well.
