# of Beds / Rooms / Bays: 11 to 20 Nurse to Patient Ratio: 1:4;1:3 Our unit does use low-dose Ketamine drips on occasion The nurse must be willing to work a rotating shift, 36 hours per week every other weekend and a holiday. The unit consists of 12 inpatient beds. The nurses’ practice should be familiar with caring for patients with these abnormalities and working with this equipment. It features four video EEG monitoring rooms with state-of-the-art equipment and provides care to neurology, neurosurgery and epilepsy monitoring for surgical patients. This unit also performs gene therapy infusions for SMA and will often participate in clinical drug trials. Some of the conditions treated in this unit are Hydrocephalus, brain and spinal cord tumors, Intractable epilepsy, Spina Bifida, Craniofacial Disorders, brain and spine trauma, spinal deformity/scoliosis, concussions, ADEM, Ataxia, Brain Abscess, Chiara Malformation, closed head injury, Encephalopathy, Encephalitis, Guillain Barre, Hydrocephalous, Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension, Neurofibromatosis, Macrocephaly, Moyamoya, MS, Pseudo seizures, shunt replacement/revision, sleep disorders, stroke, Tethered Cord, Tuberous Sclerosis, VNS Insertion/Malfunction, convulsions, AIM, Febrile Seizure, Cerebral Palsy, cyclical vomiting, etc.Employer
