Unit Specifics: **Med Surg/Medicine E3** Unit staffing description- : 5 RNs, 3 PCA and a unit secretary, Type of equipment: PCA pump, IV pump, Kangaroo pump, wound vac, chest tubes, Bipap Documentation system: Cerner Soarian Scheduling requirements: 3 12 hour shifts plus every third weekend Floating policy: to areas with competency. AMC has an internal float team that assists in filling holes Patient Experience requirements: At least one year of general Medicine/Surgery Unit Specifics: **Med Surg/Medicine E4** Number of Beds : 36-bed unit Unit staffing description- (unit secretaries and tech availability) : Type of equipment: Blood pressure machines, IV pumps, wound vacs, PCA pain control pumps, PAPRs, telemetry monitoring, pulse oximeter, WOWs Documentation system: Soarian documentation system, MAK medication system Scheduling requirements: Every other weekend, every other Friday, and every other holiday Floating policy: to areas with competency. AMC has an internal float pool team. Hospital Specifics- Certifications: Academic Medical Center, Level 1 trauma center (adult); Children’s Hospital within a hospital Procedures performed on unit: Central line placement, paracentesis, wound vac placement. Certifications Required: BLS required. Medical-Surgical certification encouraged. Unit Specifics:**Med Surg FLOAT POOL Number of Beds : 766 licensed beds Unit staffing description- (unit secretaries and tech availability) : Work side by side with members of interdisciplinary teams on all units: PA’s, NP’s, Residents, Attending MDs, Fellows, PCA, and ASAs Type of equipment : wound vac, EKG monitoring, advanced neuro assessments Documentation system: Soarian Scheduling requirements: Every other weekend; may request weekend block Fri/Sat/Sun or Sat/Sun/Mon Floating policy: to areas with competency. Patient Experience requirements: Working with a variety of different patient populations. Must be flexible in assignments, comfortable with change, and willing to learn new skills Advanced skills needed: Ability and willingness to float to 22 different medical and surgical units. Unit assignments will be made on a shift to shift basis to best meet the needs of each of these units. Hospital Specifics- Certifications: Academic Medical Center, Level 1 trauma center (adult/pediatrics); Children’s Hospital within a hospital Unit Specifics:**Med Surg/Ortho Number of Beds: 22 private rooms Unit staffing description- RN’s, PCA’s, ASA’s, NP’s, Nurse clinicians Type of equipment: wound vacs, traction, iV pumps, chest tubes, NG, trach collars, feeding pumps, Vioptix, suction, medical air, O2, mini infusers, PCA pumps Documentation system: Sorian, MAK (medications), HEV (bed mgmt.), Pyxis, Vocera Scheduling requirements: All shifts Floating policy: to areas with competency. AMC has an internal float team that assists in filling holes Patient Experience requirements: Post surgical Med/ Surg, Hospital Specifics- Certifications: Academic Medical Center, Level 1 trauma center (adult); Children’s Hospital within a hospital
