Job Description

The role involves facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with the healthcare team and patients/families to meet their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. Key responsibilities include:

  • Patient Assessment: Evaluate patients' physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs through observation, interviews, and medical record reviews.
  • Care Planning: Develop and implement patient care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
  • Clinical Competency: Demonstrate proficiency in various therapeutic and diagnostic interventions, including IVs, wound care, medication administration, catheterization, and specimen collection.
  • Patient Advocacy: Promote and protect the health, safety, and rights of each patient.
  • Education: Provide patient and family education, assessing learning readiness and evaluating the effectiveness of teaching.
  • Relationship-Based Care: Engage patients as partners in their care, respecting their preferences, values, and cultural differences.
  • Resource Management: Utilize time, personnel, equipment, and supplies effectively to deliver high-quality, cost-effective patient care.
  • Professional Development: Mentor new staff and nursing students, seek learning opportunities, and maintain professional records to demonstrate competency and lifelong learning.

Additional Information

  • Minimum Experience Requirements: One year of experience preferred.
  • Float Requirements: May be required to float to any Centura location within 60 miles of the original assignment, including duties outside of the original job requirements as per Centura policy.
