Job Description

The practice of nursing in this role requires specialized knowledge, judgment, and skills to provide care to groups and individuals. The RN will utilize knowledge from biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. Care is provided based on a model that promotes an ongoing partnership between patients, families, and healthcare providers, ensuring that care is culturally based and age-specific.

Unit Description: Endoscopy

The Endoscopy unit features six procedure rooms and operates in a fast-paced environment with state-of-the-art technology.
The unit is staffed entirely by RNs who are proficient in advanced gastroenterology and pulmonary procedures, including:
- Bronchoscopy
- Endoscopic Pulmonary Ultrasound
- Robotic Assisted Navigational Bronchoscopy
- Thoracentesis
- Colonoscopy
- Esophagogastroduodenoscopy
- Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography
- Endoscopic Ultrasound
- Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy Tube Placement
- Capsule Endoscopy
- Small Bowel Balloon Enteroscopy
- Bravo placement
The patient population includes high-risk outpatients and higher acuity inpatients.
Responsibilities include prepping patients preoperatively, assisting physicians, monitoring patients during procedures, and recovering patients post-procedure.
The focus is on achieving good patient outcomes and ensuring patient safety, supported by leadership and interdisciplinary teams.
