Job Description
- Provide quality patient care within the medical imaging department.
- Perform high-quality imaging and exams while being sensitive to patient needs.
- Follow standards of safe radiation practice and demonstrate leadership abilities.
- Act as a clinical resource for students, staff technologists, and other hospital personnel.
- Ensure current standards of practice for the unit are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic radiology procedures while ensuring safety for self and patients.
- Produce quality images accurately and timely.
- Prepare patients for exams and provide necessary information and support.
- Assist patients during exams and position them appropriately.
- Observe patients and equipment during procedures, documenting any unusual occurrences.
- Facilitate smooth patient flow and optimal use of equipment/resources.
- Communicate effectively with physicians, imaging personnel, and hospital staff.
- Assist with patient transport as needed.
- Perform IV starts and contrast administration as required.
- Maintain technical operation of equipment and notify service when necessary.
- Keep work areas clean and maintain quality checks and equipment maintenance documentation.
- Engage in ongoing education and share knowledge with staff.
- Participate in clinical training and support the development of student radiographers.
Additional Information
- Knowledgeable in all aspects of Diagnostic Imaging, including Surgery and Trauma.
- Previous Radiologic Technologist experience preferred.
- One year of post-certification experience required for evaluating/instructing student radiographers.
- Floating may be required to any CommonSpirit location within sixty (60) miles of the original assignment.
- Float assignments may include duties outside of original job requirements in accordance with policy.

- Actively participate in department and hospital quality and process improvement initiatives.
