Job Description

General Description

Under minimal direction, perform various therapeutic physical therapy treatments according to the direction of a physician.

Essential Responsibilities

• Interpret physician orders, evaluate patients, and formulate treatment plans to achieve long and short-term goals.
• Modify treatment plans based on patient responses.
• Participate in discharge planning and instruct patients on home programs.
• Document treatment results and patient responses in medical records.
• Supervise and assist students during clinical rotations, depending on clinical experience.
• Maintain and clean equipment used by the department.

Experience

• None required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge of principles, methods, practices, techniques, equipment, and procedures used in physical therapy.
• Understanding of anatomy and physiology sufficient to evaluate and treat patients.
• Ability to adjust equipment to meet patient needs.
• Strong communication skills to guide patients in their treatment and development.
• Proficient in computer usage.
