Job Description

Key Responsibilities

1. Assessment Skills:

   • Competent knowledge of growth and development stages from Pediatric to Geriatric.
   • Performs thorough, systematic, and accurate assessments.

2. Clinical Skills:

   • Demonstrates competent clinical skills and provides direct patient care.
   • Knowledge of emergency equipment and procedures.

   • Maintains complete and accurate documentation.
   • Responsible for documenting nursing processes and patient progress.

4. Professionalism:

   • Demonstrates professional practice responsibility and knowledge of policies.
   • Identifies areas for clinical and professional growth.

5. Patient Satisfaction:

   • Responds professionally to patients, families, and co-workers.
   • Promotes a patient-centered environment and maintains confidentiality.

   • Follows National Patient Safety Goals and Universal Protocol.
   • Uses safe transfer techniques and proper body mechanics.

7. Unit Specific Job Function:

   • Knowledge of conditions, procedures, and equipment for surgical patients.
   • Individualizes patient care based on procedures and anesthesia types.

8. Responsibility and Accountability:

   • Directs patient care by prioritizing based on patient needs and condition changes.

9. Patient Education and Chart Completion:

   • Assesses patient understanding of surgical procedures and instructions.
   • Involves patients and families in education.

10. Duties Specific to PAT RN:

    • Supports timely completion of patient testing.
    • Evaluates Pre Admission Testing (PAT) orders for appropriateness.

Requirements

• Experience: 2 years of critical care experience (required)
• Licenses/Certifications:

  • RN License (required)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (required)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification (required)

Contract Length

• 89 days

Physical Requirements

• As defined by Occupational Safety/OMS standards.
