Job Description

Under general supervision, the Radiographer II performs advanced level professional work in exposing and processing radiographic images and fluoroscopy examinations. Responsibilities include circulating to other diagnostic radiology areas as assigned and participating in training programs to enhance knowledge and skills in specialized radiology areas.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Operates standard and portable radiology equipment for various examinations, including:
    • Intravenous pyelography
    • Cystography
    • Gastro-intestinal series
    • Body section radiography
  • Assists physicians and performs specialized imaging procedures.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves equipment and film output issues.
  • Acts as a resource and preceptor for other Radiographers and students.
  • Maintains records, inventory, and equipment for the area of primary responsibility.
  • Participates in training programs to enhance radiology skills, including Computed Tomography and Magnetic Resonance Imaging.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Knowledge of diagnostic radiography techniques.
  • Knowledge of operation and maintenance of radiographic equipment.
  • Ability to prioritize assignments.
  • Ability to assess, treat, and care for patients of varying ages.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly to patients and parents.
  • Computer skills.

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • One (1) year full-time experience as a certified or registered cardiovascular or radiologic technology professional in the specialty required by the hiring department.
