Job Description

• RN to patient ratio: 1:4, caring for patients ranging from young adult to geriatric.
• Responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring patients with medical equipment (catheters, feeding tubes, tracheostomies, ventilators, cardiac monitors).
  • Providing care for patients transitioning out of the ICU who require more attention than those on a general medical-surgical unit.
  • Conducting frequent patient assessments and escalating changes in medical conditions appropriately.
  • Responding to cardiac arrest and rapid response codes.

Qualifications

• Evidence of graduation from an accredited National League of Nursing School.
• Baccalaureate degree or a satisfactory equivalent combination of training, education, and experience.
• Licensed to practice as a professional nurse in New York State.
• Minimum of two years of experience in Medical/Surgical Step Down or ICU, including IV insertion, phlebotomy, and conscious sedation.
• BLS & ACLS certification.
• Demonstrates satisfactory completion of age-specific competency.
