Job Summary

The Radiologic Technologist I is responsible for obtaining diagnostic radiographic examinations at a technical level that does not require constant supervision.

Essential Job Functions

  • Produce diagnostic radiographic examinations by positioning patients and selecting proper technical factors based on individual patient needs.
  • Operate equipment as required for specific procedures and restrict radiation exposure to unaffected parts of the patient.
  • Perform portable x-ray examinations in various settings, including patient rooms, operating rooms, and emergency rooms.
  • Identify and mark patient films correctly, ensuring proper documentation.
  • Develop exposed x-ray films using available processing methods.
  • Maintain an orderly x-ray room and assist in administrative duties related to scheduling, patient instruction, and record maintenance.
  • Provide assistance to patients based on their individual needs, including mobility support.
  • Lift a minimum of 5 lbs., push and pull a minimum of 10 lbs., and stand for a minimum of 6 hours a day.
  • Adapt care to meet the specific needs of the patient population served, including considerations for age, culture, language, and disabilities.
  • Adhere to the standards identified in the Medical Center's Organizational Competencies.
