Job Description

As a CT Tech, you will perform routine and specialized examinations in the specialty area of CT, adapting procedures to obtain specific diagnostic and/or therapeutic results while preparing patients for examinations. This role requires independent judgment to adapt procedures under the direction of a radiologist.

Essential Functions

• Perform procedures ensuring accurate and complete examinations for patients of all ages.
• Maintain working knowledge of CT equipment and exhibit competency in performing and filming CT procedures.
• Adapt routines based on patient conditions or radiologist requests.
• Knowledgeable in invasive procedures, sterile tray setup, assisting radiologists, and scheduling procedures.
• Document accurate pre and post-procedure information.
• Follow JCAHO patient safety goals and maintain quality care throughout procedures.
• Operate and troubleshoot CT equipment, ensuring safety and maintenance.
• Maintain a clean work area and stock supplies appropriately.
• Ensure efficient patient flow and transport patients as required.
• Complete all necessary documentation in the HIS STAR Radiology system.
• Maintain a safe environment for patients and staff, adhering to QA, QC, and QI programs.
• Train fellow technologists/students and promote a productive learning environment.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum of three (3) years of applicable experience.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to set priorities.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and flexibility to work well with others.
• Basic reading, writing, and oral English skills.
• Critical thinking skills and ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Professional demeanor and customer/patient focus.
