Description
- Job Summary: The WelbeHealth Occupational Therapist Assistant, under the direction of an Occupational Therapist, is responsible for assisting with performing tests and providing restorative and rehabilitative Occupational Therapy services to participants at the Center and at home to maximize participant independence and safety and enhance performance of ADLs.
- Job Responsibilities: - Administer participant’s treatment programs as established by the Occupational Therapist. - Assist Occupational Therapist in obtaining vital signs, range of motion and strength testing. - Coordinate with other members of the rehabilitation team to implement activities and programs based on the participant’s individual treatment plans. - Handle scheduling of participants treatment, clinical visits, and billing. - Deliver and document Occupational Therapy interventions in accordance with the occupational therapist’s established care plans. - Provide training and instructions to staff, participants and caregivers/families in the use and care of therapeutic equipment. - Track and manage maintenance for equipment. - Remain alert to pertinent input from other team members, participants, and caregivers and update the Occupational Therapist/IDT promptly of any changes in participants’ condition or functional status. - Participate under the supervision of Occupational Therapist in end-of-life care coordination and support. - Be legally authorized to practice in position location, required. - Complete all required documentation in a timely and accurate manner. - Protect privacy and maintain confidentiality of all company procedures and information about team members, participants, and families. - Follow WelbeHealth policies and procedures and participate in any required Quality Improvement activities, staff training and meetings. - Communicate regularly with Supervisor and team regarding workload and priorities. - Timely completion of all mandated trainings and education. - Timely completion of all mandated occupational health screenings as needed. - Exercises flexibility in performing assignments as business needs evolve. - Other duties as assigned.
Job details
- Minimum of two (2) years’ Occupational Therapy Assistant experience in a clinical setting with a frail or elderly population.
- Occupational Therapy Assistant knowledge and skills necessary to treat frail, elderly participants with complex needs.
- Excellent clinical, organizational and communication skills in settings with seniors, their families and interdisciplinary team members.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience and competency working with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
