Certification details
- Nurse Manager Emergency Department assumes 24-hour responsibility for overall assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care.
- Responsibilities include oversight and direction for the emergency department, and accountability for planning, directing, leading and evaluating nursing care within the department.
- Foster an environment of collaboration and respect with all other healthcare team members.
- Weekend and holiday coverage as needed is also a responsibility of the role.
Job details
- Minimum of five (5) years nursing experience of management and/or supervisory in the Emergency Department.
- Demonstrates leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate in English both verbally and in writing.
- Excellent creative skills, ideas to improve existing programs.
- Ability to determine appropriate action in complex situations.
- Ability to manage multiple and simultaneous responsibilities and to prioritize scheduling work.
- Ability to complete work assignments accurately and in a timely manner.
- Ability to handle difficult situations involving patients, physicians, or others in a professional manner.
