Description

Certification details

Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of South Carolina or holds a current compact/multi-state license as a Registered Nurse in a recognized NCSBN Compact State and is not a permanent resident of SC.
Must have a current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider Card.

Job details

To provide nursing care for patients following established standards and practices in accordance with the South Carolina Nurse Practice Act.
To apply professional nursing theory and practice to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care.
Perform patient assessments reflecting physical, psychological, socio-cultural, spiritual, cognitive needs and functional abilities through systematic collection and review of patient-specific data.
Plans and prioritizes care based on assessment, evaluates patient progress and revises care to attain expected outcomes.
Demonstrates clinical competencies in specific area of practice as described in departmental performance standards.
Assesses patient/family learning needs, plans and provides education, and evaluates the effectiveness of teaching in achieving desired outcomes.
Identifies and responds appropriately to ethical issues in patient care; provides nursing care in a non-judgmental manner that respects patient diversity and acknowledges patient rights.
Initiates collaborative dialogue with physicians and coordinates multidisciplinary activities to plan, deliver and evaluate patient care.
Acts as a patient advocate.
Provides nursing care in a manner that respects patient diversity and acknowledges patient rights and identifies resources to meet unique patient needs.

Job requirements

Current RN Teammates transferring to another RN position in the same department will not be required to complete BSN within five years of transfer date.
Current RN Teammates transferring to another RN position in a different department will be required to complete BSN within five years of transfer date.

Schedule information

Frequent standing, walking, bending, crouching, stooping.
Frequent lifting/moving patients.
Intermittent lifting, moving or carrying, pushing or pulling up to 50 lbs.
Frequent use of finger/hand dexterity.
Constant reaching with hands/arms.
Frequent talking or hearing.
Moderate noise level in work area.
Work under stressful conditions, deadlines, or irregular hours.
May be required to take call and/or work weekends/holidays based on the needs of the department.

Unit specific information

Must be able to Scrub and Circulate.
