Job Description
- The position is for a Registered Nurse in a Step Down Unit.
- Agency staff may be required to float to other units or campuses as needed, but only to units they are qualified for.
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of EPIC experience required.
- Certifications:
- ACLS: Required for various units including RRT, CRT, Telemetry, MS/Tele, ER, Pediatric ER, all adult ICU units, CCU, Stepdown, PCU, LTACH, PACU, Cath/IR, Endoscopy, L&D, Observation Unit, and LDRP RN travelers. Certification must not expire within 30 days of start.
- BLS: AHA, RQI, and ARC only. Must not expire within 30 days of start.
- PALS: Required for Pediatric Units, ER, and PACU. Certification must not expire within 30 days of start.
- NRP: Required for NICU, L&D, and possibly RRTs. Certification must not expire within 30 days of start.
- TNCC: Required for ER/ED and Pediatric ER travelers. Certification must not expire during assignment dates.
- MAB or CPI: Required for ER/ED, Pediatric ER, and Behavioral Health RNs. Certification must not expire within 30 days of start.
- NIH Stroke Certification: Required for various units. Certification must not expire within 30 days of start.
- IV Certification: Required for all LPN/LVN candidates.
- State License Verification: Must show no pending action against the license. License must not expire within 30 days of start.
- NURSYS Verification: Required for RN, LPN/LVN, AP.
Additional Information
- Floating Policy: All travelers must sign the floating policy.
- Background Check: A 7-year criminal check is required and must be updated annually.
- Health Documents:
- Physical exam required.
- Drug screen required within 1 year of start and updated annually.
- Vaccination records for Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap, Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, and Varicella are required.
- TB testing required within 90 days of start.
- Flu vaccine documentation required for the 2024-2025 season.
Compliance and Documentation
- Candidates must complete various online modules and pre-assignment testing within specified timeframes.
- Badge photo required prior to start.
- Education verification is required.
