Job Description

Unit Information
- Unit: Cath Lab
- Floor: 4th floor
- Building: South Tower, 4th floor
- Hours: 6:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday-Friday
Typical Procedures Performed
- Cardiac cases
- Interventional Radiology (IR) cases
- Vascular cases
- Electrophysiology (EP) cases
- Neuro procedures
Skill Set Required
For Rad Techs:
- Strong clinical skills for various procedures and patients
- Experience in Cath Lab, IR/Vascular Lab, and Electrophysiology procedures
- Scrubbing/panning and circulating in interventional procedures; monitoring preferred but not required
For RNs:
- Experience in circulating, monitoring, and administering conscious sedation in Cath Lab invasive procedures
- ICU, ER, and experience in caring for critically ill patients; scrubbing preferred but not required

- Calm under pressure with strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
Required Certifications
For All:
- ACLS and BLS required
For Rad Techs:
- Radiology Technologist – ARRT certification or Cardiovascular Technologist
- Registered Cardiovascular Interventional Specialist (RCIS) credential preferred
For RNs:
- Registered Nurse licensure
- Critical Care (CCRN) and Trauma certifications (TNCC) preferred
Additional Requirements
- In Texas, Cardiac Cath Lab techs working with radiological equipment must have an MRT license along with the required certifications for their specialty.
On Call and Weekend Requirements
- On call approximately 1-2 days per week and 1 weekend per month.
Dress Code
- Scrubs provided by the facility.
