Job Description

• Position: ER Nights RN

Required Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or Red Cross preferred
• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or Red Cross preferred
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA or Red Cross preferred (not required for ICU)
• CNOR (Certified Nurse - OR) - Required for RNFA
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - Preferred for ER
• NIH Stroke Certification - Required for MS/Tele
• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam - Required for MS/Tele

Health Documents

• Physical Exam - Required within 1 year of start
• Negative TB or Chest X-Ray - Required within 1 year of start
• Drug Testing - Negative Urine Drug Screen required within 14 days of start
• Vaccination Records:

  • COVID-19 Vaccine - Proof of vaccination required prior to start
  • Flu Seasonal Vaccination - Required during flu season (10/1 - 3/31)
  • Tdap Vaccine - Required
  • Varicella - Positive Titer or 2 Vaccines
  • Hepatitis B - Positive Titer required

Additional Requirements

• Government issued photo ID - Required
• Emergency Contact Form - Required prior to start
• CORI Release - Needed
• Fit Testing - Required using 3M N95 Model 1860 for all units
• References - Documentation of 2 recent work references required
• Background Check - Standard background check required, updated annually
• Skills Checklist - Required annually
• MA Nurse Aide Registry Search - Required for all candidates in MA

Notes

• Candidates must be vaccinated annually with up-to-date COVID-19 vaccine doses. If a recent booster has not been obtained (dated after 10/31/2023), an exemption form must be completed.
• Pass/Fail Testing on the first day of orientation for all RN candidates.
