Job Description

• Unit: MS/Tele
• Start Date: ASAP
• Experience Required: 2 years
• First Time Travelers: Not accepted
• Float Requirement: Required to units of equal or lesser acuity
• Weekend Shifts: Required (half of the contract)
• Patient Ratios: 1:6
• Total Beds on Unit: 20

Patient Population

• Serves a diverse patient population from young adults to geriatrics.
• Focus on medical and surgical patients, including those with neurology or neurosurgical diagnoses.
• Equipped with telemetry and oximetry monitoring.

Certification Requirements

• BLS: Basic Life Support
• NIH: Preferred
• ACLS: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (as applicable)
• PALS: Pediatric Advanced Life Support (as applicable)
• NRP: Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure (as applicable)
• CHEMO: Chemotherapy (as applicable)
• TNCC: Trauma Nursing Core Course (as applicable)

• Management of dysrhythmias
• Use of Rapid Response teams
• Renal failure management
• Blood product administration
• Central line management
• Peripheral line management
• PICC line management
• Starting IVs
• Administration of Heparin products
• PCA (Patient-Controlled Analgesia)
• HFNC (High-Flow Nasal Cannula)
• Oxygen face masks
• Isolation precautions
• Wound care and wound vac management

Additional Information

• Local Traveler Policy: Not accepting local travelers from specified counties.
• Documentation System: Prv EPIC required
• Health Documents:

  • Physical Exam within 12 months of start
  • Negative TB or Chest X-Ray within 1 year of start
  • Drug Testing: Negative 10 Panel Drug Screen within 90 days of start
  • Vaccination records for Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap, Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella, and COVID-19 as applicable.

Background and History Requirements

• Background Check: 7 Year Background Check within 1 year of start
• Work History Verification: Required for all candidates
• Education Verification: Must verify highest level of education
• References: 2 Professional References required for Travel, Allied, Per Diem Acute Care
