Job Description

• Position: Registered Nurse (RN) in Medical-Surgical Oncology
• Shift: Nights
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Experience Required:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience
  • Previous travel experience preferred
  • EPIC experience required
• Patient Ratios: 1:6
• Weekends: Required for half of the contract
• Floating: Required
• Certifications Required:

  • BCLS (Basic Life Support)
  • NIH Stroke Certification (preferred)
  • Chemo Certification (not required for this contract)

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Additional Requirements

• Geographic Restrictions: Candidates must not reside in the following counties: Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, and Morris.

Certifications and Competencies

• Certifications:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure)
  • Chemo Certification (as applicable)
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
  • HIPAA Safety Manual Acknowledgement
  • State License Verification
  • NURSYS Verification (RN, LPN/LVN, AP)
  • Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB)
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)
• Competencies:

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam
  • Color Blind Testing
  • Core Competency Exams (Parts I, II, III)

Health Documents

• Physical Exam: Required within 12 months of start
• Fit Test: Required within 1 year of start
• Vaccinations:

  • Adult TDAP Vaccine (within 10 years)
  • Negative TB or Chest X-Ray (within 1 year)
  • Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella (as applicable)
  • Negative 10 Panel Drug Screen (within 90 days)
  • Flu Seasonal Vaccination/Documentation
  • COVID-19 Vaccination (Dose 1 and 2 if applicable)

Background and History Checks

• Background Check: 7 Year Background Check required within 1 year of start
• Work History Verification: Required for all candidates
• Education Verification: Required to verify highest level of education
• References: 2 Professional References required for Travel, Allied, Per Diem Acute Care
