- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Schedule: 3x12s; Nights; Every other weekend
- Start Date: ASAP (exact date dependent on EPIC experience/training schedule)
Job Description
- Seeking a strong cardiac tele/stepdown nurse with experience managing chest tubes and dysrhythmia.
- The unit is responsible for cardiac surgery patients after ICU.
Requirements
- Licensure: Must have an active Virginia or Compact License in hand at submission.
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of RN experience.
- Strong background in cardiac tele/stepdown nursing with experience managing chest tubes and dysrhythmia.
- Experience working with CVSD patients and telemetry.
Additional Information
- COVID-19 Vaccination: Possible requirement.
- EPIC Training:
- Candidates with 6+ months of EPIC experience in the past 12 months will attend a 4-hour CLIN DOC ACCELERATED class.
- Candidates with less than 6 months of EPIC experience will attend a 2-day CLIN DOC class.
- Flu Vaccine: Required during flu season (October 1st - March 31st). Medical or religious exemptions may be requested.
Documentation and Competencies
- Health Documents:
- Pre-employment physical within a year of start.
- Fit test within the last 12 months.
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start.
- Drug testing within 30 days of start.
- Seasonal influenza vaccination documentation.
- Background Check:
- 7-year criminal check within a year of start and updated annually.
- References: Proof of 2 clinical references required.
Competencies
- Completion of various competencies and training modules prior to start, including HIPAA safety manual acknowledgment and core policies.
