Job Opportunity: Certified Surgical Technician
Overview

Position Summary
The Certified Surgical Technician is an integral member of the surgical team, providing support for surgeons during operations by preparing, providing, and caring for instruments and equipment while maintaining a sterile field.
Shift Details
- Schedule: 5x8’s, 0630-1500
- Call Requirements: Yes
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; graduation from a school of Surgical Technology preferred.
- Certifications/Licenses:
- BLS certification via AHA
- Surgical Tech certification required
- Skills:
- Knowledge of care and handling of instruments and equipment
- Knowledge of sterilization and cleansing procedures
- Ability to read, write, and communicate verbally in English
- Experience: One or more years of experience in an acute care hospital setting in the operating room or an instrument care environment preferred.
Supervision
- Responsible to: Clinical Manager Operating Room and Director, Surgical Services
Work Environment
- Exposure to bloodborne pathogens; adherence to Universal Precautions and Right to Know is required.
- Use of protective equipment is mandatory when there is potential exposure to infectious materials or hazardous chemicals.
Physical Requirements
- Heavy physical effort requiring standing, walking, or lifting most of the day.
- Ability to speak, hear, and communicate verbal and written materials.
