Job Description

Movement for Life is seeking a Physical Therapist for their Central Coast location in Pismo Beach, CA. The preferred schedule is 4x9's and 1x4.

Summary/Objective

The Physical Therapist will implement patient rehabilitation programs to improve mobility, function, and strength.

Essential Functions

• Hold a valid Physical Therapist license in California.
• Maintain and update PT skills and certifications.
• Evaluate and treat patients for physical therapy and rehabilitation.
• Utilize Electronic Medical Records for evaluations, reports, and discharge summaries.
• Guide and monitor patient care throughout treatment and follow-up.
• Supervise PT Assistants and Aides in patient care.
• Communicate with physicians and staff to ensure quality patient care.
• Document patient charts accurately and follow up on prescriptions and test results.
• Assist with patient comfort and answer questions.
• Collaborate with front office staff on scheduling and patient follow-up.
• Make independent decisions regarding patient care.
• Participate in business marketing and referral processes as needed.
• Adhere to HIPAA policies and procedures.
• Be familiar with PT billing policies and procedures (Medicare, work-comp, private, etc.).
• Proficient in DX and ICD-10 coding for billing services.
• Physical mobility required, including sitting, walking, and standing for 8-10 hours.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and assist with patient mobility.

Supervisory Responsibility

• Supervises PT Assistants and Aides in all aspects of patient care.

Work Environment

• Outpatient/rehabilitation clinic setting.

• Access protected health information only as necessary for job duties.
• Report any concerns regarding privacy policies without fear of retaliation.
• Participate in privacy training and communicate privacy policies to others.

Physical Demands

• The role involves walking, sitting, standing, bending, lifting, and moving throughout working hours.
• Must be alert for patient safety and capable of lifting over 50 pounds.

Travel

• No travel is expected for this position.

Required Education and Experience

• Degree in Physical Therapy.

Preferred Education and Experience

• Continuing Education courses.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

• Must hold an active license or plan to test for licensure as a Physical Therapist in California.
