Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) position in the Stroke Unit involves:

• Assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting nursing care for patients.
• Ensuring compliance with organizational policies and professional nursing standards.
• Being accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self or others under their direction.
• Utilizing specialized knowledge and nursing skills to assess data and provide appropriate care based on the physical and developmental age of assigned patients.

Requirements

• Experience:

  • 2 years of recent Medical-Surgical and Telemetry experience (required).
  • 2 years of experience caring for stroke patients (required).
• Certifications:

  • Active RN license.
  • NIHSS certification (must be completed via NIHStrokeScale.org).
• COVID-19 Vaccination: Declinations not accepted; vaccination status must be included in submission notes.
• References:

  • 2 supervisory references (1 from within the last 6 months and 1 from the last 12 months).
• Skills Checklist: Required.

Additional Information

• Must be willing to take Telemetry patients as needed.
• No requests for time off (RTO) for assignments less than 12 weeks.
• Candidates may request time off equivalent to their contracted hours, up to a week.
• Orientation for RNs and CNAs is held every other week on Tuesday and Wednesday.
