Job Description

• Qualifications:

  • Certification/Registration with ASCP, NCA, NEW, or equivalent registry.
  • Phlebotomy experience is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; bilingual is a plus.

• Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate testing procedures and clinical data with medical staff in the Laboratory Department.
  • Perform EKGs, phlebotomies, therapeutic phlebotomies, and specimen procurement.
  • Clarify physician orders and address questions regarding orders, specimens, and results.
  • Maintain standards in routine, timed, and STAT testing, demonstrating the ability to set priorities.
  • Share weekend and daily on-call hours with other staff technologists.
  • Assist in the orientation and training of new employees.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment, supporting workplace safety.
  • Prepare and monitor quality control charts and instrument maintenance protocols.
  • Demonstrate competency in patient care delivery, optimizing patient safety and reducing healthcare errors.
  • Follow proper procedures for laboratory equipment malfunctions and ensure continuity of care.
  • Correlate results with diagnoses and question incompatible results.
  • Ensure preventive maintenance is documented and report any medical/healthcare errors appropriately.

Schedule

• Shift: Day Shift
• Rotation: 8 Days On, 6 Days Off; 7 am - 5:30 pm
• Potential for On-Call Responsibilities
