Number of Beds: 40
Staffing:
- Day Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 10 bedside nurses, 4 PCTs, 1 Unit Secretary
- Night Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 10 bedside nurses, 3 PCTs
Patient Ratios: 1:4 (stretch staffing at 1:5)
Patient Types:
- CHF (Congestive Heart Failure)
- MI (Myocardial Infarction)
- CP (Chest Pain)
- Arrhythmia
- Pulmonary Hypertension
- Valvular Disease
- Endocarditis
- DKA (Diabetic Ketoacidosis)
- Post cardiac cath/stent
- Post pacer/ICD/ablation

Equipment and Technology

Type of Equipment: Zoll, Baxter pump, lift equipment, bladder scanner
EMR System: Cerner

Required Skills and Experience

Must Have:
- Stepdown or progressive care experience
- Telemetry experience
- Experience with titratable or cardiac IV medications (e.g., nitroglycerine, Cardizem, amiodarone, dopamine, dobutrex, insulin drip, heparin, bumex/Lasix)
Preferred:
- Experience with prostacyclins (Flolan, Veletri, Remodulin)
- Relief charge experience

Dress Code: All white or all navy blue scrubs, or white top with navy blue pants.
Weekends: Every other weekend required.
