Job Description

• Hours: 36 or 48 hours accepted
• Patient Ratios: Targeted ratios are 1:4-6
• Experience Required:

  • Cardiac experience required
  • Must have CABG experience
  • Must show 1:5 ratio experience in the Work History section for SD or PCU (ICU experience does not count)
  • 1.5 years of experience in some level 1 or 2 preferred
  • Travel experience preferred
• EPIC experience required

Responsibilities

• Pass an online EKG tele competency assessment before starting the assignment
• BLS, ACLS, IV start, NIH & cardiac drip titration required
• Must be able to read and interpret strips
• Nurses will be fitted for N95 prior to working on the HRRU unit unless PAPR is offered/needed
• Floating may be required at Premier's discretion, including assignments in high-risk respiratory units/COVID

Additional Requirements

• Must be available to work every other weekend/holiday
• Premier Health reserves the right to cancel shifts due to low census
• Travelers are not eligible for Premier Health employee incentives

Unit Details

• Unit Type: 36 bed unit
• Specialty: Pre and post-op open heart management including CABG, valve, mitral clip & TAVR, thoracotomy, etc. Advanced care cardiac patients with continuous telemetry.

Required Certifications

• BLS - Basic Life Support
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support
• NIH Stroke Certification
• EKG Competency Exam
• Additional certifications may be required based on unit specifics (e.g., TNCC, PALS)

Health and Background Requirements

• Annual health questionnaire
• Physical exam within 2 years of start
• Negative TB or chest x-ray documentation
• Drug testing required
• 7-year criminal background check
• References: 2 required, including 1 from a Manager/Supervisor/Charge RN

Documentation

• Current resume/application required
• Skills checklist required within 1 year prior to documentation due date
• Education verification required for non-RN candidates

Notes

• Request time off (RTO) with initial submittal; no RTO will be added after the offer
• All documentation must be completed prior to the start date to avoid delays
