Description

Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - MS Float Pool

Location

  • State: South Carolina

Employment Details

  • Type: Travel/Contract
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Schedule: 3x12 hour nights (7 PM - 7 AM), 36 hours/week
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
  • Holiday Rotation: Required
  • On Call Requirement: N/A
  • Floating: Will float to med-surg floors at the Main hospital and Ashley River tower
  • Staffed Beds: 820
  • Type of Facility: Level I Trauma Center, Teaching Facility, Magnet Hospital

Qualifications

  • Experience Required: 2 years preferred; first-timers accepted
  • License Required: South Carolina or Multi-State/Compact State RN License
  • Certifications Required:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - required for specific units
    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - required for pediatric units
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) - required for specific units
    • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - not required for ER RNs
    • Additional certifications may be required based on unit assignment

Additional Information

  • Local Radius: 60 miles; locals accepted on a case-by-case basis
  • Guaranteed Hours: Facility allowed to call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
  • Parking: $20 registration fee for a parking permit; additional fees may apply for parking outside designated areas
  • Charting System: EPIC

Required Documentation

  • I-9 Form: Attestation required confirming work eligibility in the US
  • Driver's License: Copy required
  • Social Security Card: Copy required
  • Background Check: Annual check required
  • References: Proof of 2 clinical references required
  • Employment Application: Must include all PTO, contract assignments, and agency names
  • Education Verification: Required; a copy of diploma or transcripts preferred

Health Requirements

  • Vaccinations:
    • Tdap vaccine within 10 years required
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days of start
    • Flu vaccination documentation required for the flu season
    • COVID-19 vaccinations are highly preferred

Competencies

  • Fit Test: Required within 90 days prior to start
  • Competency Exam: Required for all travelers prior to start

Notes

  • Candidates must complete all required modules and training prior to starting.
  • All certifications and documentation must be uploaded into the facility's system before the start date.
