Job Overview for Healthcare Recruiters and Workers

Position Details

  • Specialty: ICU/MS (Acute Care Nursing)
  • Location: Thief River Falls, Minnesota
  • Facility: Sanford Thief River Falls Medical Center
  • Employment Type: Contract Clinician
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

  • Collaborates with inter-professional colleagues, including physicians, to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
  • Demonstrates competency and practices within the full scope of nursing expertise.
  • Cares for patients in all phases of preventative care, health maintenance, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up.
  • Responsible for planning and coordination of care, patient assessment, education, triage, and various nursing interventions.

Equipment Utilized

  • One Chart/EPIC
  • Omnicell
  • Phillips telemonitoring/remote telemetry

Required Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of 1 year ICU experience; ER skills are a plus.
  • Active Minnesota RN license.
  • Certifications:
    • BLS (AHA)
    • ACLS (AHA)
    • PALS (AHA)
    • TNCC (preferred)

Shift and Schedule

  • 12-hour rotating shifts.
  • 2 weekends on a 6-week schedule.
  • No call requirements.
  • Opportunity for additional shifts.

Unit Details

  • Bed Size: Critical Access Hospital with 25 shared beds (ICU/MS/OB).
  • Nurse to Patient Ratio:
    • 1-2 patients if in ICU.
    • 4-6 patients if in Med Surg, potentially partnered with a co-assigned nurse.

Dress Code

  • Navy Blue scrubs.

Training and Orientation

  • One Day ICU training.
  • One Day Med Surg training.
  • One Day ER training (if applicable).

Additional Information

  • Candidates should be able to float to ER if needed.
  • Must be able to work with both MS and ICU patients interchangeably.
  • Candidates should indicate any required time off during the initial assignment.
