Job Description

• Required Skills / Certifications / Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the field.
  • First-time travelers are accepted.

    • Arrhythmia Induction
    • Cardiac Ablation
    • Cardiac Mapping
    • Circulate Procedures
    • Conduction Studies
    • Electrophysiology Evaluation
    • Insertion/Programming of AICDs
    • Left Atrial Appendage (LAA) Closure
    • Pacemaker Insertion
    • Accurate monitoring
    • Equipment set up
    • Perform EKG lead placement
    • Prep access site
    • Recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias
    • Room circulator
    • Scrub - maintain sterile field
    • Sterile Technique

• Certifications Required:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)

Job Details

• Position Type: Can be a tech or an RN.

• Average Daily Census: 15 cases.

• Shift: 4x10, 0730-1800.

• Special Procedures / Unit Details:

  • Ablations: VT, PVI, CV, A-Flutter, AV Node.
  • ICD/Pacer Placement and exchanges.
  • Laser Lead Extraction.
  • Lead extraction.
  • LAAO.

• Special Equipment:

  • PFA
  • Cryo
  • ESI
  • IVUS
  • Cardio Lab
  • EPIC: CUPID

• Unit Systems (Medication, Documentation, Communication):

  • Pyxis
  • Cupid: EPIC & Cardio Lab
  • SBAR

• Unit Orientation: 30 hours.

• Scrubs: Provided.

Additional Information

• Contract staff may be assigned to work a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team and may be required to report to work during catastrophic events, mass casualties, or disasters.
• Internal notes indicate that candidates should review against the Unit Description for required certifications and qualifications.

Health and Safety Requirements

• Physical Exam: Required within 1 year of start.
• Fit Testing: Required for clinical positions.
• TB Testing: Required within 1 year of start.
• Vaccinations: Compliance with flu and COVID-19 vaccination requirements as per facility policy.

Competencies and Training

• Various competencies and training modules are required, including but not limited to:

  • Medication Safety
  • Bloodborne Pathogens Training
  • Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training for applicable roles.
