Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (ICU Float Pool)
Location
- City: Washington, DC
- Facility: Medstar Washington Hospital Center
- Hospital System: MedStar Health
Employment Details
- Type: Travel/Contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: 3 or 4 x 12-hour shifts (Day/Night)
- Shifts range from 0700-1930, 1100-2330, 1900-0730, 2300-1130
- On-Call/Weekend Requirement: No on-call requirement; every other weekend
Job Description
- Position involves floating between various ICU units including:
- MICU
- SICU
- Neuro ICU
- CVICU
- CVSICU
- IMC Units
- ED/PACU to care for ICU/IMC boarders
Requirements
- Licensure: DC RN Licensure
- Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in:
- ICU
- Surgical ICU
- Cardiac monitoring and emergency response
- IV insulin protocols
- GI surgery
- IV therapy
- IV sedation
- Chemo administration
Additional Information
- Vaccination Requirement: All travelers must have a flu vaccination.
- Health Documents Required:
- Annual physical exam
- N95 Fit Test (within 9 months of start)
- TB screening (IGRA or PPD)
- Vaccinations for MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, and Tdap
- Background Check: Required within 90 days of start, including criminal background and education verification.
- References: Two positive supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment.
