Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (CDU RN) - Travel/Contract

Location

Position Details

  • Position: Clinical Decision Unit (Observation) RN
  • Employment Type: Travel/Contract
  • Start Date: ASAP (Tuesdays)
  • Contract Length: 13 or 26 weeks
  • Shift Options: 3 or 4 shifts of 12 hours
  • Years of Experience Required: 2 years
  • Patient Ratios: 1:5 (Day), 1:6 (Night)
  • Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend

Unit Information

  • Unit Average Daily Census: 40
  • Patient Types:
    • Observation
    • General medical
    • Post-operative PCI
    • Post-operative general and gynecological surgery
    • Short-stay inpatient and/or extended outpatient stay
    • GI bleed, SBO, ESRD, CHF, COPD, chronic bi-pap/C-pap, stable CIWA
  • Isolation Patients: Limited; no chemotherapy, peritoneal dialysis, or acute bi-pap

Certifications Required

  • Basic Life Support (BCLS)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • NIH Stroke Certification (preferred)

Additional Information

  • Charting System: EPIC
  • Floating: Required; travelers may float between various like units within their skill set.

  • Background Check: Required within 45 days of start
  • References: Minimum of 2 references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years

  • Physical Exam: Within 1 year of start
  • Drug Testing: 10 Panel Drug Screen within 90 days of start
  • Vaccinations:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
    • Flu Vaccine (seasonal)
    • COVID-19 Vaccination or Declination
  • TB Testing: IGRA/TSPOT, QGold, or 2 PPDs within 12 months of start date
