Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Position: OR RN
- Shift: 3x12 Evening (1100-1930)
- On Call/Weekend Requirement: 1-2 calls per week, weekend included in rotation
- Float Requirement: Required to float within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity
Requirements
- Licensure: DC RN Licensure (will accept submissions with licensure pending if proof of application is provided; licensure must be in hand prior to assignment)
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - required for RN/LPNs working in ED or Pediatrics
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) - as required by unit description
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - as required by unit description
- EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) - required for L&D candidates
- NIH Stroke Certification - required based on unit description
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in the following procedures:
- Appendectomy
- Cholecystectomy
- Colon resection
- Hernia repair (inguinal/umbilical)
- Laparoscopic assisted procedures
- Scrub in general OR
- Whipple and thyroidectomy (partial/total)
- Travelers: First-time travelers with adequate experience will be accepted.
Health and Safety Requirements
- Flu Vaccination: Required for all employees.
- Physical Exam: Annual physical stating the candidate is able to perform work without accommodations and is free from communicable disease.
- TB Testing: IGRA (T-spot, Quantiferon Gold) or PPD Skin Test required within a year and updated annually.
- Drug Screen: Required within 90 days of start, excluding marijuana.
- Vaccinations:
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years is recommended for positions with exposure to children and infants.
- Hepatitis B Titer, Series (3), or Signed Declination.
- Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer).
- COVID-19 Vaccination (Dose 1 and 2 if applicable).
Additional Information
- Background Check: Required within 90 days of start, including criminal background check and education verification.
- References: Two positive supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment.
- Work History Verification: Minimum of two years of the past seven years of employment required.
