Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology (IR) Tech

  • Type: Clinical Services
  • Description:
    • Advocate Trinity Cath/EP/IR
    • Approximate 205 licensed beds; no trauma designation.
    • Level II NICU.
    • Blended Lab with 1 Lab, 3 pre and 3 post recovery bays.
    • Capable of performing simple procedures in bay areas.
    • Utilizes EPIC charting and CV PACS.

  • Phillip C-arm
  • Volcano
  • Shock Wave
  • Phillips Asurion X-ray

Procedures

  • IR Procedures:

    • Thoracentesis
    • Paracentesis
    • Embolization (UFE)
    • IVC filter placement
    • SVC repair
    • Line placement (PICC, various central lines)
    • Assist with CT biopsies
    • Fistulas
    • Needle aspirations
    • Shock wave lithotripsy
    • Progressive vascular limb program for lower extremity PAD
  • Cath Lab Procedures:

    • STEMI
    • IABP
    • Stage PCI
  • EP Procedures:

    • Generator exchange (dual, single, leadless)

Requirements

  • Experience:

    • Minimum 2 years of IR Tech experience
    • Experience in Cath Lab and IR procedures
  • Licenses/Certifications:

    • Active IL license (IEMA)
    • Active BLS (AHA)
    • ARRT (IR)
    • CCI

Skills

  • Proficient in sterile technique
  • Ability to function well in a team
  • Strong communication skills, especially with physicians
  • Knowledgeable in aseptic technique
  • Aware of radiation safety
  • Ability to anticipate physician’s needs

Preferences

  • Highly prefer candidates with CBT certification (not required)
