Job Description

The Flow Cytometry Technologist is responsible for:

• Performing analytical cytometry examinations
• Quality control and instrument maintenance
• Testing validations
• Implementing hospital and laboratory missions, goals, and objectives

Note: This position is also known as Fluorescence-Activated Cell Sorting (FACS).

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum of 3 years current experience in an approved laboratory
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or related science
• Certifications:

  • ASCP (Cytometry, SCYM) or ICCE required (equivalent certifications are not accepted)
  • Must have the ability and education to perform high-complexity laboratory testing
• Skills:

  • Independent judgment and initiative
  • Effective communication skills
  • Above average manual dexterity
  • Knowledge of HIS and LIS
  • Ability to work efficiently under stress and for extended periods

Additional Information

• COVID-19 Vaccination: Required (dose date on or after 10/3/23). Exemption forms are available.
• Travelers: Must not reside within 50 miles of the facility. Must have their own vehicle.
• Requested Time Off (RTO): Must be noted and verified at upload; no more than 5 days of RTO will be accepted.
• Orientation: Non-billable 8 hours.
