Job details

The Medical Technologist is responsible for the collection, processing, and analysis of biological specimens in the laboratory.
This position is also responsible for the preparation of reagents and has comprehensive knowledge of specimen collection.
Act as backup to phlebotomy team and may perform venipuncture and/or collect cultures.
Analyzes and processes biological specimens, organizes workload and sets-up test procedures.
Evaluates appropriateness of patient and quality control results and enters into the Laboratory information system.
Maintains inventory and reorders reagents. Stocks shelves. Disposes of biohazards, chemicals, etc. in a safe manner following department procedure.
Maintains and troubleshoots instruments.

Job requirements

1+ Year of Experience
ASCP or AMT
Bachelors Degree
Primarily Alma, but occasional coverage at Mt Pleasant
