2 nurses recommend working with Deaconess Hospital
Pros
Staff are very friendly and helpful to travelers, as there are a lot of them. Ratios (on day shift) were always 4-5:1. Techs were usually there, but the quality varied greatly. Wide variety of patient conditions. Overall, it was a very nice contract. Would have extended, but Evansville is a wee bit of the incredibly boring side.
Cons
I was personally on a different floor, nearly every single shift. I'm used to floating, but this was almost every day. Rent is very high in Evansville, given the town itself. There are a lot of transient workers, and not just nurses. Construction, manufacturing, etc. A huge lack of entertainment activities in the area. Great facility, awful town.
