Description

A Vascular Sonographer (or Vascular Technologist) is a specialized medical imaging professional who uses ultrasound equipment to assess and diagnose conditions in a patient’s vascular system, which includes veins and arteries. They are experts in vascular ultrasound, also called vascular sonography or vascular ultrasound, which is a non-invasive imaging technique.

Key responsibilities: Perform Ultrasound Examinations; Analyze Blood Flow; Assist in Diagnoses; Patient Interaction.

Skills/Training: Vascular sonographers usually hold an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography with a specialization in vascular sonography. Many also earn certifications, such as the Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) credential offered by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
