· Provides leadership and direction in accordance with organizational and divisional goals and objectives.
· Responsible for planning and monitoring staffing activities for the division, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions and continuing education initiatives.
· Prepares, monitors, and evaluates departmental budgets, and ensures that the department operates in compliance with allocated funding.
· Provides for professional growth and development of staff through identification of needs, sponsoring training programs, encouraging education (formal and continuing) efforts and evaluation of same.
· Responsible for completion of regular performance evaluations for each staff member; conducts evaluations for new staff prior to completion of probationary period.
· Directs and evaluates departmental operations, including patient care delivery, information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management, to achieve performance and quality control objectives.
· Develops and implements departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with the clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization.
· Ensures efficient and effective departmental operations including, but not limited to, staff scheduling, collection of QAPI data; helps organize and lead departmental meetings and complaint management.
· Coordinates and directs internal/external audits and tracer activities.
